This journal is entirely friends-only.
If you know me and would like access to read my entries, just email me and we'll work it out. If you don't have my email address, then we probably don't know each other well enough for me to add you here. :-) Sorry!
When you look at your list of LJ friends and have a difficult time remembering who some of those usernames are, it's probably time to do a friends cut.
I know I've picked up a lot of people over the last seven years through shared fandom of bands or meeting once at a mutual friend's party. But it's impossible for me to keep up with everyone and I imagine that some of you have lost interest in reading my entries, too. It's okay, it's nothing personal, it just happens. People move on.
So, leave me a comment if you're still reading. Part of me hates doing this because it seems like a ploy to attract attention, but I don't want to cut anyone who is still actively keeping up with me, yet chooses to stay quiet, and I really need to do some serious weeding.
I'll leave this up and public for a week or two before I start making cuts. If we have regular communication via LJ, email, or in person, you're in good shape. If we're not in much contact and I cut you and you want back on, just leave a comment to this entry.
EDIT TO ADD: Hey gang, it's okay if you don't post a lot, or even at all. I'm just checking for life among the people who read me. So don't worry about the content of your LJ, just give me a little peep to let me know you're still interested in reading mine. :-)
I'm working on a playlist of popular songs from the last decade. Well, popular with a bit of a rock/alt leaning. Stuff that gets overused in the media is a plus. Or a ton of radio play. The goal is that just about any casual music fan aged 18-40 could listen to this and hear something they're familiar with, even if the gut reaction is, "Not THAT song again."
This is some of what I have so far:
Feist - 1234
Goldfrapp - Ooh La La
Peter, Bjorn and John - Young Folks
Coldplay - Clocks
Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out
Hot Hot Heat - Bandages
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows
M.I.A. - Pull Up The People
Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl?
I didn't get started on this until well past 1am last night and so I haven't even scratched the surface of all of my music yet, but I was having a hard time pulling song ideas out of thin air. So....HELP!
Ooh, though of another to add:
U2 - Vertigo
EDIT: I've enabled anonymous comments and opened this post to be viewable to all, in hopes of getting more ideas from people without LJ accounts, or not on my friends list.
